On September 19, 2015 there was hardly a person in Mozyr who didn’t celebrate the 860th Anniversary of the Town Foundation Day.
Anniversary celebration ceremony was held on the central square. More than 200 MSPU teachers participated in the opening ceremony; 350 students were involved into the street parade.

Several distinguished guests honored the celebration ceremony with their presence. Among the guests there were Evgeny Adamenko, Chairman of Mozyr District Executive Committee, Sergey Gvozd, Chairman of Mozyr District Deputy Council, Irina Kralevich, Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Konoplich, Deputy of House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, delegations from Ukraine and Poland.
The town day united town dwellers, visitors and those who were born in this magnificent place.
