Student Research Laboratory “Coherent Optics and Holography”

On December 02, 2015 1st and 2nd year students of Physics and Engineering Department (majoring in “Computer Physics”) met Vasily Shepelevich, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, Professor, Chief of Student Research Laboratory "Coherent Optics and Holography".

On December 02, 2015 1st and 2nd year students of Physics and Engineering Department (majoring in “Computer Physics”) met Vasily ShepelevichDoctor of Physics and Mathematics Sciences, Professor, Chief of Student Research Laboratory "Coherent Optics and Holography".

 Prof. Shepelevich lectured on the main directions of work and achievements of research laboratory. Much attention was paid to the following topical issues: 

-          solving of research tasks;

-          holography in photorefractive crystals;

-          light beams in photorefractive crystals;

-          computer modeling of Physical processes;

-          training of highly qualified experts. 

Achievements of Student Research Laboratory members:

-          Good grounding in science and research (8 dissertations were defended: P. Ropot (1992), N. Egorov (1993), A. Phirsov (2000), S. Nichiporko (2003), V. Navnyko (2007), A. Golub (2011), A. Zagorsky (2011), V. Davydovskaya (2014));

-          Participation in International and State conferences and Research paper competitions (V. Navnyko (2004), V. Ryzhova (2006), A. Makarevich (2012));

-          Student grants of Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus (S. Nochiporko (1996-1997), V.Ryzhova (2009-2010), M. Dubina (2008-2011));

-          Defence of Final papers in English (M. Yarmolich (2014)).

 

Students were impressed by the lecture and came to the conclusion that the knowledge they received would be of great importance and efficiency in their science and research work.
