SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR «THE WAYS TO GAIN EFFICIENCY IN TEACHING PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS AT SCHOOL»

On February 09, 2018 scientific and methodological seminar “The ways to gain efficiency in teaching Physics and Mathematics at school” was held at the premises of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin. The seminar was held as a part of cooperative activity implemented between Chair of Physics and Mathematics (MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin) and Kalinkovichy Upper Secondary School, where the branch of the chair was opened. The main objective was to enhance professional skills of teachers in the field of Physics and Mathematics training, effective implementation of educational process in Physics and Mathematics.

Professor Vladimir Savenko, Head of Physics and Mathematics Chair, opened the seminar and lectured on the deliverables announced at II Congress of Scientists of the Republic of Belarus and perspectives of cooperation between Secondary School and University. Much attention was paid to training methodology of creative pupils, preparatory work for academic contests in Physics and Mathematics, conducting of scientific projects for further submission in Research-to-Practice Conference “Search/Poisk” and academic tournaments of young physicists and mathematician.

Professor Valentin Valetov, Rector of Mozyr State Pedagogical University named after I.P.Shamyakin, lectured on modern tendencies in the development of education in the Republic of Belarus.

Ekaterina Budnikova, Assistant-Principal of Kalinkovichy Upper Secondary School, lectured on peculiarities of work devoted to research activity with pupils. Mrs Budnikova also offered the ways of cooperation between Univerisity and Secondary School and gave some useful advice on how to conduct experiments in Physics.

Larisa Ivanenko, PhD in Pedagogics, Associate Professor, lectured on “Task-oriented training of pupils as a tool for competence building strategies of students”. The report was devoted to mechanisms of teacher’s competence building when work with talented pupils.

Zhanna Ravutskaya, PhD in Pedagogics, Associate Professor, lectured on “Forms and methods for mastering of creativity when students learn Physics”. Classification of creative tasks, peculiarities of work, implementation of projects were discussed.

Perspectives of further cooperation in the field of training, enhancing techniques for effective work, introduction of new equipment were discussed at the end of the seminar.
