Unity Day of the Belarusians and the Russians

April 02 is known as the Unity day of the Belarusians and the Russians. Exactly on this day in 1996 Alexander Lukashenko and Boris Eltsyn met in Moscow and signed the agreement “About the establishment of the Unity between Russian and Belarus”. On April 02, 1997, 2 years later, the agreement “About the Unity between Belarus and Russia” was signed. This agreement helped to develop the integration between two states. Since then The Unity day has been celebrated and the purposeful work has been conducted with the only great aim – to build a new unity.

 

    On that day a festive campaign was held at the premises of MSPU named after I.P.Shamyakin. The curators arranged information sessions for the students (“Two Ruses – two sisters”, “Belarus and Russia”, “Unity of Belarus and Russia”, “Brotherhood of the nations”), exhibition of the books (“Two sisters – Belarus and Russia”); posters’ competition and students’ social compaign “Belarus+Russia= Friendship”.
