ROUND-TABLE DISCUSSION “CURRENT ISSUES FOR ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS OF THE BELARUSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH”

The round-table discussion devoted to the topic “Current issues for enhancement of activities of religious educational establishments of the Belarusian Orthodox Church” was held on December 23, 2021. The discussion was arranged by the Department for Synodal Religious Education and Catechetesis of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. Liudmila Gavrilovets, Associate Professor, Department of History and Social Sciences, Philology Faculty, took part in the discussion. She presented the report devoted to the self-check activities held at the religious educational establishments.
Priest Stephan Voropay, the Chairman the Department for Synodal Religious Education and Catechetesis of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, opened the meeting with a festive speech and said that it was an important step for everyone to meet and to shed light to the current issues. Several important questions were discussed at the meeting i.e. development of the projects of legal and regulatory affairs for religious educational establishments, appraisal of religious managerial employees and religious researchers.
N.I.Lis, Assistant to Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, introduced all the participants to the new edition of the Code of Education of the Republic of Belarus. N.I.Lis said that there was a possibility for the students to be awarded with the scholarship and the award named after Metropolitan Archbishop Filaret of Minsk and Zaslavl.
The program of the round table was highly topical; it led to a fruitful and effective discussion.
